2009 is off to great start at the South Cheatham Public Library! Our only disappointment was not winning the "Best Small Library in America" award. There were more than 60 libraries nominated and it was an honor to be one of them. We know that we do not need to win an award to know that we are a great library! I am happy to announce a new book club for pre-teens called BE-TWEEN. We have already had a pizza planning party and met to watch the movie "The Thief Lord". We plan to have an activity once a month that will include playing board games, Nintendo Wii and of course reading our favorite books. Watch the Advocate for news of our meetings. Make your plans now for our Annual Spring Book Sale on May 2nd in conjunction with the town-wide Kingston Springs Yard Sale. The Chuckwagon, courtesy of Community Bank and Trust, will be here as well serving free lunch. Do you have an old and tattered flag and don't know what to do with it? On Memorial Day we will be properly disposing of old flags giving them the respect they deserve. June 4th is the first of our Summer Reading Programs. Our theme this year is "Be Creative @ Your Library" and we have a lot fun planned for the children (adults seem to like it too!). As you can see it will be busy at our "little log library" and we hope to see everyone in taking advantage of all of our programs.
